A New Head coach for Soccer!

The soccer clubs at Ohio Valley Christian School will be under new leadership this upcoming season. After coaching many record winning teams in both basketball and soccer over the past 22 years, Coach Chris Burnett will be stepping away from this role that he has done so well, and made an impact on many student athlete's lives with, as he takes on a new opportunity. We thank him and his family for all they've done for the school, and pray the LORD blesses them as they take this new step!

Our new Varsity Soccer coach will be Sommer Sherren, who was an Assistant Coach during the 2022 season!

Coach Sherren started her coaching career as an assistant coach for the Maranatha Baptist Academy girls soccer team in Wisconsin in 2007. She became the head coach of the girl's Maranatha Academy team in 2008.

She then coached the women's soccer team at Maranatha Baptist Bible College from 2008-2010. The MBBC women's team went to the NCCAA tournament in Kissimmee, Florida during the 2008-2010 seasons. In 2008, MBBC finished 4th, in 2009 they finished 5th, and in 2010 they finished 2nd.

In 2011, Coach Sherren began working with On Goal Soccer Ministries, coaching multiple teams and ages at the club. On Goal Soccer Academy became Passion FC, in Milford, OH, from 2011-2021. Coach Sherren has coached summer camps with On Goal around Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, Michigan, and overseas in Scotland. Her favorite part of coaching is seeing each of the players grow in their skills, and their relationship with Christ.

We are excited to have Sommer join us and continue helping to train our student athletes both on and off the soccer field!
